Falcon Fire Sprinkler Company performs inspection services on private fire hydrants. A private fire hydrant Fire hydrants that are out of service or poorly maintained can impair proper fire protection. Falcon Fire Sprinkler Company can inspect, test, and maintain all necessary components of private fire hydrants.

Inspections of private fire hydrants are conducted in accordance with NFPA 25 standards, including full testing of the hydrant to ensure that all components are in prime working condition. We offer inspection programs geared to provide automatic periodic inspections required by NFPA 25 and the authority having jurisdiction.

In accordance to NFPA 25 regulations, the annual procedures are performed by Falcon Fire Sprinkler Company when a private fire hydrant is inspected.

ANNUAL

Hydrant is clear from external obstructions and accessible.
Hydrant is properly color-coded for type of hydrant.
Hydrant is opened fully and water is flowed until all foreign material has cleared. Flow is maintained for not less than one minute.
Hydrant is checked for proper drainage from the barrel (full drainage must not be longer than sixty minutes).
Hydrant is visibly checked that the hydrant barrel is not cracked.
Hydrant is checked and lubricated to ensure that all stems, caps, plugs, and threads are in proper operating condition.

NOTE: Private fire hydrants should be inspected during the spring and fall months. Summer inspections should be avoided because of heavier water demand on the system.

The authority having jurisdiction (local Fire Marshal) may at sometime request a copy of your private fire hydrant inspection report or reports. If you cannot find the copy we gave you upon completion of our inspection, you may retrieve it on-line. As an added benefit being our customer, you have access to view or print the completed inspection report or reports forty-eight hours after Falcon Fire Sprinkler has performed the service. The documents are protected by encrypted username and password protection.
